Leading the frontend of an institutional FX trading platform — taking a legacy third-party codebase to a modern, tested, containerised stack while it stays live.
- Took over a legacy third-party FX trading platform and executed the migration plan: full-flow E2E coverage → legacy clean-up → dependency upgrades (webpack, React, TypeScript) → functional-syntax rewrite to plain TypeScript → GWT removal → FE/BE split → containerisation.
- Built the automated testing strategy from scratch with Playwright, cutting manual regression from 2 weeks to 30 minutes.
- Redesigned the UI of 3 platforms (the main trading platform and internal tools) on a new high-fidelity design system built for real-time trading data.
- Built the real-time data layer: live prices and trade updates streamed to the browser over WebSockets, fed by RabbitMQ message queues on the backend.
- Designed and built SpectrAxe Switch — interface and logic that lets treasury teams act as intermediaries between Prime Brokers and trades, bridging front-office and back-office systems.
- Designed a firm-wide identity service and a hierarchical account model giving granular control across every platform.
- Wrote the frontend 'source of truth' guidelines and wired agentic workflows into planning, development and review — cutting development time 3×.
